October Hikes 2013

It's been a long time since I've posted anything, but this weekend a few friends and I took our dogs for a lovely hike and I just had to take some pictures.  The dogs all had a great time, as did their humans - here you will see Crosby (yellow lab)), Eko (bichon mix), Fable (black lab) and Sophie (golden/poodle) on their lovely hiking adventure. Autumn Colours with Rio and Eko

This is one of my favourite times of year to take pictures and all because of how beautiful the trees look. Rio and Eko had a lovely walk the other day at one of the larger parks in the area and of course, my camera came along for the ride.

the toronto zoo

I'm going to get back to my cottage pictures (as I still have quite a few to share), but before that I thought I would post some pictures I took at the Toronto Zoo a few weeks back.

It was a beautiful day and although many of the animals were asleep, we seemed to get there just in time to catch at least one picture of them looking around or moving from one napping place to the next. My favourites are the large cats, wolves and the arctic foxes (they won my heart this time as they were racing around playing with each other). So, here are a handful of pictures from the day. the cottage - part 2 - the scenery

One of the best things about the cottage is the scenery. Every night had a beautiful sunset, but there were certain evenings that just were outstanding.

Wow, the summer has just flown by and somehow I kept running out of time to update my blog! Fear not! I have many pictures to share over the next little while. My first batch that I'll post today is from the cottage I went to in July. I took tons of pictures every day, so I'll do a few entries showing different aspects of cottage life.

The cottage we go to is in Bancroft and I had a wonderful time. I wish we could have spent another week up there - not only did I love it, but the dogs had a great time as well. Eko was so thrilled to have water to splash in and Rio enjoyed being able to run around free and keep an eye on all his people (and luckily for him, we were almost all around the same place for him to keep us all within view).

So, here is the first selection of my pictures. These are the little creatures - insects and reptiles - we bumped into while up at the cottage! Enjoy and as always, click for a larger view.

Bella

My local park has been exploding with new puppies lately - puppies of all shapes, sizes and breeds. The best part is that every single one of them get along and play beautifully with each other and I cannot tell you how adorable/enjoyable it is watching two (or more!) puppies running around and romping together.

The newest addition is 3month old Bella, a border collie/beagle cross. She's going to be about 30 - 40lbs full grown and is already taller and heavier than my little 6month old Eko (Eko weighs in at a whopping 13lbs at the moment and she's not done growing yet). Bella is as sweet as can be and she has the cutest little face. It's hard not to fall in love with her when you meet her and she's a true little model for my pictures. I look forward to walking her and taking more photos of her in the future and as she grows up!
